Hey Bluefield and The Grand Area!!
I'm new here and am wondering why there are no up-to-date posts!!
There are a lot of things to discuss especially since we have a city board election June 2..
What do you feel ought to be developed in the Matz/Colonial Disaster Area??

Are we ever going to get a skate board area for our kids?

Is our new city mgr. going to be heavy in economic development and obtaining the many grants that are out there for the asking?

Just some thoughts..to maybe get some chatter going! Jay

I agree, this site should be more active. It appears to me someone went to a lot of trouble putting this thing up, and yet, nothing. It makes me wonder if one issue with Bluefield might be a lack of tech-savvy people, or is it the attitude of "I didn't think of it and it's not affiliated with anyone I know, so I won't use it".

Or maybe that's not it at all, maybe it's that the wonderful people of Bluefield are all outdoors interacting with our fellow citizens.

Regardless of what the issue is with this board, I agree, the elections should be all the buzz. One thing I'd like to know is where did the candidates purchase their campaign materials? If they can answer "locally" then they can have my vote. (I've yet to find one who can answer this way.)

Another huge plus to me would be seeing one of them in here. Now's your chance candidates, speak up and get a vote!!! LOL!

Thanks for the post!! I was wondering if anyone was out there.. It had been 11 days since my post..
You right on it suggesting that all candidates should be on some I-net forum so we citizens could really pick their minds!! I noticed that last night only 11 of 17 showed up at BSC..If they want to be a part of City Govt..they must show up for all group forums.
I mainly want to know what plans each have for restoration and business development of the downtown area..along with tearing down or refurbishing the "eyesores" that are all over the city.. I've lived here all my life (over 70 years) and it just breaks my heart to see the deteriation of the beautiful Bluefield that I grew up with!
Just reminds me too much of McDowell County..and that's bad!
Come on Bluefield..get up and speak up!! It will never get done without the support of all the citizens!!! Let us hear from you.
