Are there any other dish subscribers out there? I've been real upset for a while now that our local stations don't up link their signal. It's like they're telling me I should buy cable, or pick up their crummy signal off-air. What do the rest of you think???

I am a Directv subscriber and have the same thought.I left Crapcast because of high prices, poor selection, constant raises with no additional channels .general poor reception, the local station does not choose to be a part of anything BUT cable and it as well keeps satellite users from even getting the national network feeds. It might be interesting this coming Feb when they go all digital...wonder if they will still be able to keep us from getting the national feeds? The cable offers a "low tier" that has the locals BUT wants some 15.00 a month for that and quality is very poor on that as well.

I got one of the converters the government sponsered a rebate for and a good antenns and I can get WVVA and CW but nothing else........I refuse to pay 15.00 for more crapcast service.....I only wish something better would be available.

I too am a DirecTV subscriber for 10 years. WVVA sucks! Hell, WOAY covers this area better than the "local" station who seems more interested in Beckley news.

I am now on Directv , I was on years ago when it first came available here,I like it and did at that time as well. I do not plan on going back to cable unless I loose my m"view" of the satellite.....I lost it once and had to have crapcast but the tree situation is a"bit "better at this time and I love Directv.

I the first time had ALL NETWORK feeds east & west, ABC CBS NBC PBS, then came a little letter from Turnervision the Directv provider that due to legal action from WVVA they were no longer able to provide me with any network feeds. They were turned off in 30 days. They aren't interested in linking to satellite NOR do they want you to have network feeds and think you have to have Comcast( crapcast) with no choice at all. Thier legal action still is a bitter area for me.The east and west networks were really quality programming......DUH.....this area could be hit by a bomb and WVVA would DO THEIR ENTIRE NEWS BROADCAST ON A CAT UP A TREE IN RALIEGH COUNTY.

I grew really tired of Comcast service and poor quality & selection so I went back to Directv. In short why should this cable co and tv broadcaster be able to "team up" to BLOCK people from paying to get network feeds.............???????

While they do not want people to have a choice...many are choosing to have some choice...with satellite so we cannot get networks......not a loss.Charleston has local feeds on Sat there but never here!

I usually like to watch WVVA,but it seems that every time I turn it on,it is ALWAYS Beckley news!! I know they have a WVVA Broadcast station there, but they should show more Bluefield area news! I have never watched WOAY,but I will check it out soon, hopefully the Bluefield coverage IS better!

I, like all of you, am also tired of being dictated to about what (or whom) I am willing to INVITE into my home because WVVA cares more about generating advertising revenue from the Beckley market than they do the local people that they claim to be here for! (Yes, we do invite TV into our homes because we choose to do so... but that does not mean that I should HAVE to watch a particular station because I am wanting to see a show that is on one of the national networks.)

We also recently switched to DirecTV due to Crapcast raising their rates to an astronomical price and cutting back on the number of channels we were receiving!

Someone needs to take a stand for the working men and women of this area!
